“Ocean Bound” – Dive Into Interactive Ocean Fun
May 29 – September 7, 2025

Calling all curious kids and ocean enthusiasts—Ocean Bound is set to make a splash as this spring’s feature exhibit! Straight from the Sciencenter of Ithaca, New York and supported by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association), this hands-on, family-friendly exhibition explores the incredible journey of water from our neighborhoods to the ocean. Kids can learn how watersheds work, get up close with aquatic animals, and interact with activities designed to inspire a lifelong love of nature.

What’s especially exciting for us local families? This exhibit includes special content all about Surrey’s own waterways and the ongoing work our city is doing to keep them clean and healthy. It’s the perfect blend of education, play, and local pride.

“Escaping Residential Schools” – A Sobering Look at Canadian History
May 29 – August 24, 2025

In the Indigenous Hall, a powerful and emotional exhibit will give voice to the stories many Canadians are still learning to face. Escaping Residential Schools, created by the Legacy of Hope Foundation, shares real accounts from survivors and their families who escaped Canada’s residential schools.

Through these deeply personal stories, visitors—young and old—can better understand the intergenerational impacts of these institutions and why reconciliation and remembrance matter. This exhibit offers an important opportunity to support meaningful family discussions, especially for parents looking to raise socially conscious kids.
