Nuts for Cheese

This year I was lucky enough to attend the Wellness Show and while I was there I met a new obsession. A new cheese that I can’t talk enough about, can’t get enough of and just adore each and every available flavour. The best part? It’s vegan: Nuts for Cheese, does exactly that; makes me nuts for cheese!

This plant-based cheese was born in 2015 at a farmer’s market in London, Ontario, when the founder had an epiphany: “why can’t vegans enjoy the creamy, tangy goodness of cheese too?” And thus, Nuts For Cheese™ was born, out of a passion for creating and sharing delectable, vegan-friendly cheeses with the world.

Starting as a one-person operation, Nuts For Cheese™ has now grown into a team of dedicated cheese enthusiasts, working tirelessly to craft artisanal, dairy-free products that will make your taste buds sing.

And the best part? These cheeses are now available all across Canada, and hopefully even farther soon enough. So, whether you’re a vegan, lactose intolerant, or just looking for a healthier alternative, Nuts For Cheese™ has got you covered. As a fellow cheese lover, it is my duty to introduce you to the delicious world of Nuts For Cheese™ and their mouthwatering selection of dairy-free cheeses.

First up, we’ve got the Un-Brie-Lievable cheese, a vegan take on the classic French brie. Made with organic cashews and fermented with traditional cheese cultures, this creamy delight is perfect for spreading on crackers or melting into a warm baguette.

Their Chipotle Cheddar cheese, a spicy and smoky alternative to traditional cheddar. Made with organic cashews and infused with spicy chipotle peppers, this cheese has a zesty kick that’s perfect for adding some flavor to tacos or chili. I mean I can imagine it being apart of an incredible queso if combined with their Sharp Cheddar maybe? But I could eat them all solo they’re amazing.

Next on the list is the Super Blue cheese, a bold and tangy blue cheese alternative that’s sure to impress. Featuring a distinct blue mold and a rich, nutty flavor, this dairy-free cheese is perfect for adding some pizzazz to salads or burgers.

If you’re looking for something a little milder, check out the Smoky Gouda which is a rich and smoky take on the classic Dutch cheese. This nut-based cheese is aged for six weeks to develop its signature red rind, and has a subtle, nutty flavor that pairs perfectly with fruit and wine. This is a MUST if you are creating a “shark-coochie-board.” (don’t get mad at me I had to do this at least once.)

For a taste of Italy, try the Smoky Artichoke & Herb cheese, a vegan take on the classic Tuscan cheese. With a smoky, savory flavor and bits of artichoke and herbs mixed in, this cheese is perfect for adding some Italian flair to your next pasta dish. Let me tell you: I legit squealed when I first tried this one and probably made an audible moan to go with it.

Last but not least, we’ve got the Spicy Black Garlic cheese, a fiery blend of organic cashews, black garlic, and habanero peppers. This cheese packs a punch with its bold flavor and spicy kick, making it the perfect addition to nachos or for a totally neat spin on a quesadilla.

So there you have it, folks – the delicious lineup of Nuts For Cheese™ dairy-free cheeses! Whether you’re a vegan, lactose intolerant, or just looking for a healthier alternative, these nut-based cheeses are sure to satisfy your cheesy cravings. Or turn you into even more of a cheese monster than you already were, but the point is you don’t have to be sad about losing out on dairy cheeses – these ones are better.
