Victoria has lots of fun stuff to do during the Halloween season and one of the best indoor places to check out is Victoria’s Bug Zoo. Not only is it a great place to go when you are looking for some indoor fun anytime of year, it is a spooky good time too!
With 40 species of different live bugs of all kinds your bug loving kids are bound to learn something new. The amazing staff do a great job at making sure every little kid gets a chance to get up close and personal with some incredible creepy crawlies.
They really made our boys feel welcome when we came in for our visit and both my youngest (not so young anymore *SAD*) and I left with a want for a tarantula pet. After meeting princess both of us were totally in love. Did you know that tarantula’s can actually understand voice commands?
Neither did I… now I do and they’re so cute. Princess would “shake a paw” when asked!
Of course it isn’t all about the tarantula, even though she now has a new fan base in our house, there are a bunch of other jaw dropping species to check out.
They even have some glow in the dark scorpions if you ask really nicely they will give you a look at them in all their glowing glory. The leaf cutter ants they have on display all over the walls is really something remarkable. You can see them in all stages of construction which is something of a true wonder.
Their stick bug collection is also pretty incredible and sometimes it truly is hard to tell what is a stick and what was a bug! Since they always have a tour in progress you will never miss something fun and will always get a chance to check out some bugs up close and personal – if you want too.
There is always something to look at and something to learn at Victoria’s Bug Zoo and I hope that you will get the chance to check them out the next time you are in the area.
