Vancouver’s dance lovers (and those who just love a good excuse to leave the house) rejoice! DanceHouse has officially unveiled its 2025/26 season lineup, and it’s packed with jaw-dropping, genre-defying performances that will have you questioning everything you thought you knew about movement. Running from October 2025 through April 2026, this season is serving up five powerhouse productions that promise to stir, shake, and possibly dropkick your emotions in the best way possible.

What’s on the menu this season? Oh, just a casual North American premiere, three Vancouver premieres, and a DanceHouse company debut. No big deal, right? Except it totally is!

Here’s what’s coming to the stage:

Amour, acide et noix (Love, Acid and Nuts) – Daniel Léveillé (DLD) (Montréal)
October 24 & 25, 2025 | Vancouver Playhouse

  • Featuring Vivaldi, pop music, and birdsong (yes, actual birdsong), this poetic and raw work explores the beauty of the human body. Also, there’s a touch of nudity—so, you know, maybe don’t bring your mother-in-law unless she’s into that sort of thing.

Birdy – Hung Dance (Taiwan)
November 28 & 29, 2025 | Vancouver Playhouse

  • Think martial arts meets Peking opera meets stunning feathered headpieces. A dazzling, visceral dive into history and personal freedom that will have you reevaluating your own life choices (or at least your last bad haircut).

Paradisum – Recirquel (Hungary)
January 21-24, 2026 | Vancouver Playhouse

  • A mind-blowing fusion of contemporary circus and dance that explores the trials and tribulations of existence itself. Expect acrobatics, evocative imagery, and enough drama to rival your last family group chat argument.

Hamlet, Prince of Denmark – Ex Machina & Côté Danse (Quebec City & Toronto)
March 19-21, 2026 | Vancouver Playhouse

  • Shakespeare, but let it leap to life! If you believed Hamlet was a whirlwind of emotions before, prepare yourself to be swept away as it unfolds in a breathtaking silence—because in the end, there are moments when actions resonate far louder than the most eloquent of soliloquies.

Manifesto – Stephanie Lake Company (Australia)
April 16-18, 2026 | Vancouver Playhouse

  • A dance-drumming extravaganza that blurs the line between organized chaos and pure artistic genius. Imagine an explosion of rhythm, movement, and joy—kind of like your toddler after cake, but way more synchronized.

How to Get Tickets (Before They Vanish Faster Than Your Kid’s Socks)

  • April 1 – Subscriptions open for past subscribers
  • April 22 – New subscriptions available
  • May 13 – Choose Your Own Four package
  • May 27 – Single tickets on sale

Vancouver, it’s time to get moving (or at least get comfy in a theatre seat while the professionals do the moving for you). Visit dancehouse.ca to secure your spot for what’s sure to be an unforgettable season!
