An amazing night at The Magic Flute!

Tuesday was probably one of the best nights I have had in a really really long time and I can't wait to share it with you.  I got to see The Magic Flute, an Opera I have LOVED since I was a small child, nothing quite compares to it in my opinion.  My excitement for this was unbelievable I was soo thrilled and they didn't disappoint nope NOT AT ALL!!

Their incredible sets and costumes were just beautiful especially with the integration of the native influences that really made this a once in a lifetime chance!

It was so inspirational and amazing to see how they married Mozart to the heritage of our amazing province of British Columbia.  The breathtaking sets and costumes were only surpassed by the incredible vocal talents of the cast.  Hearing my favorite aria from the queen of the night was just life changing for me.  As a small child I would belt it at the top of lungs with nothing but passion and I was on the edge of my seat as I was listening and watching her beauty.
Queen of the Night (Teiya Kasahara)
Isn't she just jaw dropping??  You should hear her it is spine tingling and amazing everyone was just roaring with applause and whispering with compliments.  It was an amazing night at the Opera, amazing for first timers I can't tell you enough how you MUST go to this.  There is nothing like it, the most unique gorgeous version of The Magic Flute I have seen in a long time!  I was especially giddy whenever Papagano came on stage he would steal the scene each time with his humor.  Mozart was one funny man, I like to believe he was just as the movie portrayed him.  Anyways so the sweet Papageno was sooo cute, fluttering around, joking and talking to much.  Clearly a favorite amongst the younger patrons, making their evening with all his whimsy.
Pamina (Simone Osborne) and Papageno (Joshua Hopkins)
I can't give this Opera high enough praise that is how much I just adored it, please support the arts, try something new and check out the Opera you still have time to get tickets and GO!  So GO!  Dress up get little opera glasses and make a really special night of it sooo worth it again once in a lifetime chance!
