Recently I have been taking the time to route through the history of my family, on my mother's side. My mother was a paranoid schizophrenic so there are a lot of stories out there and I have always wanted to know the ins and outs of the family. Perhaps add some evidence to some of the things she said, and heard, and if nothing else just learn about my ancestors. So I started my journey, with the help of my sisters father and a lot of scribbles and we
managed to get back to 1871 on our own!

| Ludwig Korchek is apparently the illegitimate son to an Austrian Prince. |
 |
| Fredrick Bertrand Fisher was born in Little Valley, New York! |
 |
| He was apparently a Farmer! |
 |
| My mom wrote thing about her cancer, her mothers fever and her dad apparently had TB. |
 |
| some more info on the Jesse James links in the family. |
 |
| more info on the Jesse James links |
 |
| Again more info on our links to Jesse James. |
All of this was soo neat and I even discovered that I have an ancestor by the name of Esmerelda Goldstein! So out of all of this I managed to discover why I am so conflicted all the time lol, I am a Irish, German, Austrian, American, and Jewish. I love finding out all the different countries my family is from, apparently we are from all over, I have heard native and Scottish as well it is just awesome. I am especially fond of my Irish side, always have been, but that is understandable based on my coloring.
I remember once as a teen I was working in this amazing little Gelato place (run by, whom we referred to as, the ice cream Nazi, much like the soup Nazi of Seinfeld). This woman and her friend came in and started talking to me in Greek, I had no idea what was going on and I obviously understood nothing. The poor woman saw how confused I was and asked if I was Greek, I said no not at all, and she apologized saying that my coloring led her to believe I was Greek. I love Greek food... that is about it.
So that is a look into a little bit of what I know about my family. This is mixed with
stories of pioneers, bootleggers, HUGE families of 13 siblings, rumors of links to Jesse James's gang, rumors we have the revolver or something like that. All of it is exciting and I can't wait to learn more, find out more and I am definitely going to end up paying someone so I can learn all of this.
What do you know about your family history?

I know we talked on fb a bit about this, but I just think it's so cool! I love love love family history!! Where are you finding these birth certificates though? I don't have much paperwork, just online info, and that's not always accurate
I love genealogy. It is so amazing what you find. I actually just came across a few papers I did in college for my Psychology of Aging class and there was a list of all of my dads aunts and uncles and grandparents along with mine and what they died from and what age and any family history of diseases. Great article!
What a fun project! I can't believe you found that far back on your own! I found you via the FB hop and decided to check out your blog as well! I'm happy to be your newest follower and would love for you to follow me back at http://www.two-in-diapers.blogspot.com! :)
