The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Foundation Mini-League

This week I have been focusing a lot on charities and showing you some GREAT ways to give back here in Vancouver and this is no exception.  This one I happen to hold close to my heart as I wasn't able to participate in any after school sports or activities like this.  I got girl guides.  I have a strong belief that it is the main reason why I find it so hard to be active on a day to day basis.  My hubby, who was always in TONS of after school sports, is just naturally active and has always been able to maintain a healthy body weight without much trouble.  With the the number of unhealthy kids on the rise and the recession I fear there will be a HUGE generation of kids not involved in after school sports due to money issues, and a huge generation of kids with continued health problems.

This is the reason that I am happy to announce The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Foundations Mini-League event at Nat Baley Stadium starting Thursday July 5th (goes for 7 WEEKS!) @ 4:30pm!  The VCBF is going to be giving over 300 kids, who may not otherwise have the chance, from all over the Lower Mainland a chance to play ball where their idols do!  The VCBF is even going to be providing the transportation, meals, equipment and the most important part, an "atmosphere that fosters personal and athletic development to these young children!"  Something that I think is absolutely amazing!

The feeling that this whole thing to these kids will be irreplaceable and amazing!  I am so excited for each and every one of them I wish I could make it down there to check them all out having a ball of a time!  This is going to be one of those moments we can all be proud of and we should all support!  After all the most important thing is our kids health both in body and mind.  If you would like to find out more about this foundation to give help, support and love to I highly suggest checking them out.

In other news I am happy to say that I will be off enjoying a game this weekend on the 30th!! I have never been to a game before so I am stoked to be doing it as a first with my kiddos, my hubs and his family; going to be a GREAT day and I bet our whole family will end up completely hooked!
