An Incredible Gift For Mother's Day [gift idea 1]

I was given an amazing little gift this year as an early Mother's day gift and I had to share it with  you.  I think the person that gave it to me knew me well enough that he knew I would blog about it IMMEDIATELY and of course add it my gift idea posts I have managed to collect for all of you.  This gift in fact would even make a GREAT present for a grandmother as well as it is a book that needs to be added to over several years.  At least that is how I will be putting mine together.  My boys are both under six after all.

I am completely in love with this great little book: "For My Children: A Mother's Journal of Memories, Wishes, and Wisdom", it has some GREAT things that you wouldn't even really initially talk about with your kids unless it just happened to come up in some conversation randomly.  It gives you the chance to write it out straight from you as an adult, as a separate human being.  I love it, I think it is a great gift, for under 20.00 this is PERFECT for a really meaningful gift on tight budget.

The author Dionna Ford has come up with a great way for moms to share the pieces of themselves that may fall through the cracks along the way.  It is almost a way of being immortal in your child's mind, no matter what they have this to look back on.  I can say that I really love the little books my mom tried to finish filling out that she had for my sister and I.  I don't think, to this day, I have managed to get threw it and read all of it but I love to have her voice there, her owns words.  I love the idea of chronicling all of this, really touches my heart.

"About the Author:
Dionna Ford is a lawyer and stay-at-home mom to two kids.  she co-founded two websites for parents, NaturalParentsNetwork.com and NursingFreedom.org.  She blogs at CodeNameMama.com sharing information, resources, and her thoughts on natural parenting and sharing more."

I love the idea of a personalized book. It gives the receiver something they can hold on to in memory of your special existence. And like what you said, the reader can almost hear your voice just by reading your personal words written in the book. It's a great gift idea.
