Painting

The other day a girlfriend passed along some of her "junk" to me, apparently this is what this is to her JUNK!!! she is crazy!!! I am so in love with it I couldn't possibly begin to understand how this whole thing couldn't be used up to nothing-ness in her home!  If you can't tell from the pictures I got myself and easel.  I have watercolors, oils and acrylic paints now and I am sooo thrilled to be able to play with them.  Although I am completely nervous about the oils and I doubt I will be breaking those out.  Currently I decided I would create a piece of wall art with the canvas it came with.  I picked out a sweet little Winnie the pooh quote and I have already started on it!  I decided to play around with the acrylic for it as well since I wanted to shy away from the watercolor on the canvas.  I assumed I wouldn't like the texture of it so I decided against the matter.  I would love to show you what I have stared... this is the first coat of the blue background.  I am very pleased with it and I love having it to look at.  Yesterday I even took it out onto the patio in the sunshine and it was lovely.

My only issue??  I have no idea how to get started and I am sure that I will mess it up.  I would hate that. I only have this one canvas and I am definitely feeling the pressure of having to get it PERFECT.  What I need to do is swallow my fears and go for it right?  Sometimes you just have to jump in.  I just need to find my fearless-ness.

Would you like to know the quote I have chosen??

"...If there ever comes a day when we can't be together keep me in your heart.  I'll stay there forever..."  - Winnie the Pooh

That Winnie sure was one wise little bear not gonna lie.  I even want to add a little drawing of him sitting down holding a balloon, since I am not terribly talented in the drawing department I am slightly nervous.  I mean I am not terrible, but nothing ever looks the way that I want it to.  I need to get over that.  I need to accept that art comes in all forms and this would only be MY form.  Right??

Do you paint??
