Not one free moment

Alright I didn't post yesterday as I thought a monday was a great a fitting day to take the day off.  Sorry.  I am sneaking off a quick post before my blogelina class starts.  If you haven't heard about her please give the ads a click and take a look, purdy awesome!  I have only 15 min here, less by the time I am done posting.  I feel rushed, unpredictable.... very very hungry.

You see as I work all day with the four kids, take them out, clean up after them, set up activities and the like I have discovered I have no time to nourish myself.  I am only granted the time it takes to prepare a cup of coffee, the cup of coffee that toted around my house as I rush thru like a Tasmanian devil on speed.  Just when you didn't think he moved fast enough!  At the end of my chaotic day I find myself, to say the least, famished.  So famished I could devour one of my shoes, maybe the day at the park added some flavor...  Today I found especially trying as it was a "toon" free day as, let's call her, Tinkerbell would say.  She was especially upset, but easily distracted with many fun activities!

Whilst running around today I managed to take some literal photo love.  

Sorry about the "e" it isn't rotating for some reason... driving me nuts and i can't fix it :(

Why Do I Write??

I was tagged in a post from a good bloggie friend of mine:



She posed the ever so hard question to answer; "why do [you] write?" 

There are so many answers to that, I couldn't even begin so, since it is the evening on a Sunday and my house is a mess, I decided to choose just one. 

I write because it is all mine.  It is something that I have all to myself, separate from my hubby, my kids, my friends.  It is entirely mine to explore to keep secret and to throw to the wind whenever I like. 

I write because the written word is so playful on my tongue, just as much as it tickles my brain.  The joy it can bring me and the sorrow it helps me express.  Even the anger that it tames and resentment it cages. 

Writing is mine.  All mine, something I will let no one take from me.  Even if i'm not terribly amazing at it lol!!

So to you, my writing sisters,  just keep putting pen to paper, writing is art and you can't get art wrong.

1) pour yourself onto the page; body, mind and soul. 
2) humor I love being able to laugh especially through vivid imagery.
3) Love, just love what you're doing, if you don't love it don't do it!

I didn't notice, jeez...

You know what I didn't even notice, my one year Blogoversary!!!

I know i'm horrible!!  It was April 29th, 2010 that I first started this funny little blog. 

So cheers folks!!  I can't believe it has been over a year since I started this wonderful outlet.  I love all of you for following me, for reading me and for continuing to visit and comment.  BUT I wanted to know... I was hoping to hit 300 GFC so that I may do a celebratory giveaway :D!  So tweet me, re-tweet me, FB share me w/e but help me hit that 300 mark so I can give you something good baby!  I am brewing a something up man, just for you guys.

Today I decided to join a blog hop.  I have been sad with the lack of new followers coming in so I am starting to make a really big effort to perhaps increase my weekend participation.  Seeming as it is the only time that I have to catch up on any of the work that I need to do.  With the daycare and summer coming around the corner I find myself getting really exhausted as soon as all the kids are in bed and I have sometime to work.  Usually I don't, i'm WAY too pooped.  

I know this is a universal problem with moms in the blogging world, finding the time to get what they want out of their blogging experience.  I find that I have ALOT on my plate right now, one of my gfs on said to me on FB "I feel that I cant handle what is on my plate; and you have stuff over flowing yours!"  Is it just me??  Do I love the thrill of chaos so much that I pile it on myself when things are good.  Let us review what I have to do or have been doing:

• Teaching the Basic Blogging for Beginners - The Online Class  
• configuring my class coming up in July. 
• My daycare which includes a preschool curriculum and monthly newsletter, not to mention the daily reports I send home with each family.  
• Keeping up with this blog and trying to improve it and ADD to it.  Turning into a huge job and, like a lot of you, seems to never end. 
• Trying to keep Little Fat Girl afloat as best I can to hopefully one day make the same changes I have here with Mumfection If i can manage to keep up with its load.  
• Cleaning my house as I make sure it is SPOTLESS at all times, so i'm doing it all once everyday.  I find the more often I clean the LESS I have to actually clean.  Thankfully I also have an OCD clean freak for a hubby to help me out with that xoxoxo!
• Not to mention the feeding and clothing of myself and all my kids lol.  

Think I have enough to do?  I do too... Honestly this isn't even all of it!! You should see my to do list, luckily my house is spotless and everything is as it should be thanks to the long weekend.  That is right folks us Canadians got a long weekend for Victoria Day!! Horay!  I needed it I mean look at all the stuff I had to do this weekend!!!

Set a date! FINALLY!

I have finally done it. I have set a date for my online classes!! What??!!? Did you think that hubby finally popped the question after seven years and two kids?!??! Well NOPE, not that lol!!

I have decided that I shall inform you of the birth of my online classes and the idea behind them.

We all know Twitter. I have struggled with it many times, to opening it, to decorating it, to marketing with it, to twitter parties EVERYTHING!! And though i may be lazy with my usage of twitter I know many of you struggle like I have. I have answers for you, I will be conducting a class covering EVERYTHING you need to know about twitter. From the bare basics to the complexities and potential it can give you with your business/blog.

I am in the middle of creating the curriculum and making the power-points and the first class will be July 4th!!! I am sooo excited and just ECSTATIC to be soon teaching MY OWN class that i've created to help so many of you really use twitter to it complete and FULL potential!!

S is for scrotum!!

So something was in the air yesterday... and it was scrotum's!  I know right?!  How odd!  But honestly I seen a number of posts yesterday that were dedicated to these funny little pant buddies.

A guy out here in East Van (i think), had an AMAZING post about "Scrotazzling."  Honestly just take the time to visit him he's hilarious.  He is always pretty funny in my eyes, granted I get the chance to read his blog, which isn't always so sorry dude!

The whole idea of "scrotazzling" cracks me up.  I mean imagine you come home after a nice dinner with your hubby and things start getting hot and heavy and then BOOM baubles to accentuate his baubles.  I mean I'm talking about a pant pissing moment here, I don't think I could contain myself nor find a moment where I would be turned on by that in anyway. 

My other scrotum buddy??  Carrie Fisher... you heard me right, she wrote an ENTIRE poem dedicated to balls!  It is pretty neat has some great rhythm to it in most parts, i thought it amusing.  I figured it was in light of her recent appearance on Craig Ferguson that inspired the conversation.  Move the video here to the 1:30 mark to see the segment about the Kangaroo testicles she gave him make it to the North Pole.  The photo he shares is pretty epic if I do say so myself lol, laughing for a very very long time lol!!

Super Neat Bookmarks from the week Saturday!!!

Obnoxiously long title or what?? lol!  I thought that I would start adapting some of my days to things in order to help stay regular and more reliable.  So I will spend my weekends doing simpler things... like sharing my bookmarks from the week.  I have seen this done many places and I usually LOVE what ppl have to share.  Can't exactly guarantee that you'll enjoy mine just as much lol!!

First we have this amazing no measure cookie recipe.  You have to measure one thing but that's nothing compared to my chocolate chip cookie recipe.  Honestly it was a pretty pimp idea when in a pinch with my daycare kids.  And a box of cake junk is only a couple bucks and I find they're usually on sale for buy one get one free a lot at Safeway. 

Secondly; from one of my fav go to girls I bookmarked yet another one of her blog posts @ the after bedtime blog.  Her post on SEO is pretty pimp so I feel the need to share it for sure!

Lastly; these amazing cake pops, i mean come ON!  These are amazing and look soo cute!! I really want to try them, but i doubt my abilities/patience lol. 

Now, what am I doing this weekend??  I am cleaning my house and cleaning out ALL the closets as well as my storage room!!  Am I crazy? No i'm just desperate to use the storage room as a place to put strollers etc.  My goal is to only have one stack of boxes in the corner and have the rest of the space free to wheel a stroller into or something.  Having a double stroller and a single stroller in our front hallway is becoming tight and tedious.  Currently we are right in the middle of the whole process and we've thrown out our little kids potty, cause i hate the damn thing lol.  An infant car seat, because my attempts to sell it on Craigslist have failed miserably for some reason; and a couple boxes we managed to condense into other boxes that were also inhabiting our storage room. 

I'll let you know how it all went tomorrow probably lol!!

Consider it done!! I have my own domain!! Isn't this soooo thrilling??!?! I am so happy and I even managed to figure out how to forward it without help this time !!! YEAH!!! aren't you proud Erin??!!

I have to say that Erin, once again, did an AMAZING job!!!  Honestly she just keeps blowing me away with her new details.  Check out the shoes on Lawrence!  Pretty sweet right?

Since I am running my day care now I decided I wanted it to include additional kids to my own.  Note, they look nothing like my clients, just so you know and don't ask lol!

Soon I will be posting back to regular on this amazing new address!!  I am so stoked, I have a BIG plan.  Gonna take a LONG time to iron all of it out and to launch it but it will be a class!  That is right I am thinking of launching my own class... on what do you ask??  I don't want to reveal quite yet at this point.  I want to... perfect it if you will.

As for my other classes Basic Blogging for Beginners - The Online Class
I will no longer be teaching them as of the end of the month, in order for me to find some time to figure out and launch my own set of classes.  I hope to get this done soon... but of course not too soon, if i rush it, it wont be the way I want it to be.  I want it to be focused and organized and I want to have set of support links to provide for each class that goes along with the lesson that night.

New Domain!!

I did it!! Hubby, in an attempt to make up for mothers day, has got me my domain FINALLY!! I've only been telling him to do it for three weeks or more now lol!!

Anyways soon enough I will be at Mumfection.com!!  EXCITING!! Erin @ Samantha's Day will of course be designing my new blog, cause she is AMAZING!! She just keeps getting better and better at what she does and I can't wait for her to show off on my blog!!





I of course have to get my butt in gear thinking up my design ideas, of course I have a few ideas but i want something that will make you all giggle every time you see it... something completely ME!

So wacky, funny, weird, colorful etc etc.... I was thinking me with a freeze ray, frozen kids and me with a cocktail lol!!  That is the Sci-fi nerd in me lol!!

On another note I will be teaching my class tomorrow: Basic Blogging for Beginners - The Online Class and I am very excited about it!  You should sign up if you haven't had the chance, it will basically go over the Blogger to Wordpress Transfer, using the free web hosting you receive for participating in the class.  I HIGHLY suggest it!! Of course Blogelina also offers a more advanced class that anyone can join and gain from!



So wish me luck on the move!!  Look forward to the New design that should follow behind it at some point!

Mother's Day is over-rated. [RANT]

So yesterday was mother's day.  Not a good day for me.  Hubby did nothing, AGAIN even though i stressed that I needed him to do something MONTHS in advance.  You know what I got??

Nothing, and I got subway for dinner.. horay.. awesome day.  No flowers and I had to stay in bed till 2pm just to get an "I love you, happy mothers day," from my husband to which I responded: "thank you."  That was all.  At about 3pm he thought it was a good idea to say "do you want to go to a craft fair, or something?"  Yeah my idea of a GREAT time is a day dragging two kids to a craft fair when we have ZERO money.  Honestly??  What an idiot.  I responded: "no I don't want to attend any of your last minute make shift plans... why would I."

If you haven't figured it out my hubby isn't the most thoughtful or caring human being.  I certainly didn't fall for him because of romance which i still have yet to see after seven years. 

I have stressed how important mothers day is to me since my mother passed away.  Yet he still does nothing year after year.  Do you care that little about me and what I do everyday??  Am I just NOTHING to you??  Cause these actions have lead me to believe that, and the only way to change it is through ACTIONS not words that are meaningless practically now after all of this.  I was ready to kick him out honestly.  Why have someone in the house who cares so little about how their actions effect everyone negatively.  Is it so hard to just make me feel a little special for one day??  Is it so hard to at least get the kids to draw a picture?  To buy some cheap carnations?? ANYTHING?!?!

Is it just easier to do absolutely nothing, and to make me feel like nothing to you.  I give up, you just don't care.. you don't change, why do i bother.  Really.... why.... TELL ME!

How to bake with Day Care kids

Now when you run a daycare you come into the problem of finding activities and one teach and two are fun.  For me baking is an easy choice, my kids love to help bake.  BUT not every child is exposed to it and when kids are in groups they are easily excitable.  So what is my solution???

Make sure you PRE MEASURE everything, just like a cooking show.  I choose to do this while they all take an afternoon nap so i have time to do it slowly and clean as I go while I prep.  When they wake up all I have to do is say "now put that container in here..." while the other one stirs.  Next ingredient you switch turns so it is ALWAYS fair.  Three year olds hate it when you fail to do everything EVENLY and FAIRLY.

As always my banana muffins were a hit!  Not just because they got to mash up bananas for it lol!! Plus they never notice the amount of wheat germ i put in it, making it nutty and EXTRA healthy.  If i have some finely ground flax seeds on hand I try and use that as well.  We've been really broke so far this month just scrapping by but we're getting thru it.  Soon things will be easier. 

Hubby's newest job kinda disappeared... or at least isn't as steady as we'd hoped; his employer has turned off her phone and wont phone him back or tell him when to work (she is apparently ill according to another employee who HAS been working.) so just in case once again we are back to square one and hubby is on the job hunt JUST IN CASE.  So sad, especially knowing this last one took him a year of looking to find only to last three weeks, not complete weeks cause shes a flake.  Just discouraging for hubby as well.  Pray for us and hope he finds a steady RELIABLE job soon.

Be Happy!!! <-- my new magic potion

I have come to the conclusion that winning things only gets me hooked on the products.  Now I have a new thing.  A while ago I won a contest over at Single MaMa in LA.  Now Sassy Mama in LA.  It was for this mood booster called Be Happy.  You can read above etc etc.

I didn't even think this would do anything but HELL I will try anything once if it will subdue the venom spitting dragon within!  So when I received these in the mail after waiting and waiting EVER so patiently and ever so excitedly, I downed one.  I downed one, dressed Eldest and went to vote.  WALKED the WHOLE way.  I would love to google map you how exactly far it really was but I can't.  Just let me tell you it was FAR.  Uphill the whole way home and Eldest walked the whole way too!  I'll be damned if I have to carry him up a HUGE hill, that kid is walking, period!  Anyways he did fine no problems other than about five minutes of whining... yes that is when he finally started asking me to carry him... rough.  "Mommy, hugga me???" "Mommy, I need a hug." then lastly just the noise "eeh!" with his arms in the air... all just to get out of five more minutes of walking.  Silly bean.

But back on topic here, this little be happy thing honestly works.  I don't know if it is the placebo effect or what, i don't really care.  All I know is I want more.  LOTS more, one daily kinda more... damn things are expensive... and heavy.  I have one day left... I don't know what I will do.  It honestly is amazing really just mellows my whole day and staples a smile on my face and puts a bounce in my step.  My depression has been so unnoticeable and easy to overcome the last few days.  I want to get my hands on more of this!  Soon I hope soon.

The moment you have all been waiting for!!!

Okay so I know that I have been a little MIA this week.  Honestly I have started doing day care again.  I know, I know.  I am really enjoying it this time, currently I have 1/2 of my spots filled and he is a sweet little three year old boy!  LOVES superman, incredibly talkative with a REALLY large vocabulary that I am going to love adding to.  Today we covered the words: "boundaries" - Eldest was rather pushy today you see and couldn't keep his hands to himself.   "disrespectful" - Eldest was well... being that way during lunch.  "analogy" - "Superman" said that the laundry room was the "laundry's house."  Then of course I threw in "scrumptious," - I LOVE that word it was inevitable that he would learn it.   

So that is what I have been up to for the last couple days but that IS NOT why I am here.

Some of you have been so patiently waiting to see my new hair cut.  Now I am not really too keen on my hair.  I love my bangs but the rest I would have preferred done another way... but my hair was really damaged so a lot needed to be taken off and i'm sure that caused some style restrictions lol.

WTH banning strollers on buses?!?!?

OC Transpo could ban supersized strollers on buses - Ottawa - CBC News

The fact that they would even consider this is ridiculous!! I am a mother to two boys, use a double stroller and I don't own a car. This is just barbaric, honestly. What gives them rights to discriminate against people who need to use transit.

"No you can't come on the bus, your too fat." How would that go over?? Honestly, give your heads a shake!
