"Big Carl"

Alright I know that I am late writing this but I have been busy you all know this lol.  Hell we're all busy but I got behind.  Anyways last night I went to a GREAT gf of mines house to see her sister who is now home from the hospital! horay!  Continuing, watch the movie above because my gfs room-mate has a "Big Carl," well I consider it a "Big Carl."

Meet our "Big Carl!"

Big Carl.... hopefully not doomed lol
Isn't that amazing??!!?  I love it!  HUGE!!  And that thing behind it?! An electric corkscrew!  It is amazing I am horrible at opening wine and I NEED one of these all you have to do is push an down button, then an up button.  AMAZING!!

So that is my little bit of non-sense today, I know not very thought out exactly but tomorrow i'll have more detailed momento's of the glorious evening lol.  Just not enough time in my morning and I have failed to create and keep a "blog stash" going on this one so I figure I would just wing it.  I wung it there you go, there you have it.  I will see you all again tomorrow and hopefully not nearly so late lol!!

A pie adventure!

I have never made a pie.  I have always wanted to learn how to do it, or in this case teach myself.  What brought along this obsession that I never followed thru with?  This movie, this amazing movie I first saw when I was pregnant with eldest.

I found this movie I love so deeply again a few days ago and I just HAD to finish what I wanted to start so long ago.  I started running around looking for recipes and came up with a pecan pie recipe.  Not the healthiest recipe but I had all the ingredients and went at it crust and ALL.

For the dough all you need is flour, salt, oil and water!  That's right that is IT!  I would share the exact instructions but as a dough I wasn't too pleased with how it worked, seemed rubbery so I want to find a different recipe.  Tasted just great I just wasn't happy with how the dough was.

the dough...

So anyways back to the filling... the best part lol.  You will need three eggs, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of corn syrup (i know!! horrible i hate the stuff unfortunately the only pie ingredients I had were pecan pie...), splash of vanilla, 1/2- 1 cup (depending on how nutty you like it) of pecans.  Whip them all into submission so that its all fluffy and thick and pour into pie crusts.

all whipped into submission

wow in the pie crust... so interesting lol!!

Then you place you little friends into the oven at 375 for 40-50 min.  Take out and let sit till set and BAM!  You got yourself and ready to eat pecan pie!

And that is the adventure of me making my VERY FIRST pie EVER!  I have to say I feel pretty good about myself.  Too bad fruit is so expensive... I would love to keep this pie series going and keep pumping them out!

please send me your BEST pie crust pastry recipes!!! I would love to try them all till i find that PERFECT one!

don't you love me anymore?!??!?!?

Alright bloggies, the last two months I have been noticing a sad depressing decline in my PVs and comments.  Now I am not complaining at you my lovely readers, as I know life is busy, I am more just whining about the no NEW readers plus decline... *tears*.  Is it sad that I feel unpopular?

Anyways instead of sit here bitching about it I thought to myself perhaps it is because of my lack of involvement this last little while.  I know I haven't been able to get around to everyone's blogs the way I used to be able to, but I just haven't the time.  You know, the same reason you can't, so how can I blame you?  I CAN'T that's the worst part.  But I have to find some more followers and I am determined to get to 250 by the middle of march.  Does that sound reasonable??!  I think it is manageable, but I have no time to breathe to try and persue this so i'm begging you for your help.  Spread the word, flock them to me!!! I will be ever in debt to you!

In return?  I shall try to be more entertaining, perhaps even more spur of the moment even.  I again apologize for my lack of participation and beg forgiveness on my blogging follies.  With hand on mouse I pledge to never fall on my bloggie friends needs for comments etc like myself, I will make a point to ENSURE I visit you all AT LEAST twice a week!  IF possible daily!

All my love to you my bloggies....

Coping with miscarriage

Now, I am the mother of two healthy and gorgeous children. They are messy, extremely creative, and learn something new every day. Tantrums and hyperactivity get on my nerves at times, but I still feel sad at times that the little beans I lost to miscarriage – one at 10 weeks, the other at 13 weeks – are not with us as well, arguing over toys and not wanting to go to bed. Now that my children are getting bigger and are no longer babies, I find myself thinking about my miscarriages more often. What would those children have been like? Would they have looked just like their brother and sister?

Miscarriage is, unfortunately, extremely common. Around 20 percent of all confirmed pregnancies end in miscarriage. Despite that, it is not something most women think about when they first get pregnant. I know I didn’t. I faithfully used an ovulation calendar and ovulation predictor kits when we first decided to start trying to conceive. I got pregnant with my first baby on the second cycle, and because I knew my cycle well, I found out immediately.

{pic}

Pregnancy signs – morning sickness, and really bad fatigue – turned up right away. I assumed that everything was going just fine. I called my family doctor, and he said that I could book in to see the midwife right away (we were living in England at the time). Just as I started to get excited about strollers and baby clothes, I got crampy and started bleeding. Immediately, I realized I was miscarrying. When I got to the ER, an ultrasound confirmed that the baby had no heartbeat and was small for its 10 weeks. The doctor told me that “the fetus” had probably stopped growing around eight weeks.

The second time around, miscarriage was already familiar to me. Once again, I started cramping and bleeding, and I knew another baby would be lost. My coping mechanism was to try and forget about the miscarriage, and to try again. Only I didn’t get pregnant again for a long time. I seriously started to think it was my fault, and now I was somehow being punished, and would never have children. I wondered what I did wrong, but the truth is that miscarriage can happen to anyone. It is weird to think that I could have a 10 year old now, but for some reason I think about it more often now.

Miscarriage is not a nice, sunny topic to discuss, and perhaps that is why it is rarely talked about at all – except on the internet, on discussion boards. A friend, who also had a miscarriage, recently decided to honor her baby, lost to miscarriage at 12 weeks, by giving the teddy bear she bought for her (because she is sure it was a girl) a prominent place in her home. I am not sure I would do something like that myself, but I think it is a beautiful gesture. There is no reason to forget the children who might have been, is there? And there is nothing wrong with honoring them.

Have you had a miscarriage? How did you cope in the immediate aftermath? Do you still think about it years later? If you have done something special to acknowledge the baby’s existence, what is it?

A musical moment

I have been so behind lately, stressed, with a couple bad days but i'm getting it done slowly and I have no more blog stash it seems lol.  So here I am fresh post.  I wanted to share music, some of the songs I have fallen in love with at the moment.  I am fickle with music I go threw stages and I am an eclectic so I love everything.  Nonetheless here we are and I wont delay us any further.

Youngest First Birthday Is approaching!

I have decided the theme of youngest birthday bash!  I have decided to do Dr. Suess theme!!  I am thrilled!  It is going to be wacky and crazy, all i have to do is find myself and Dr. Suess hat, bow tie and cat tail to really make a fool out of myself lol!  I have found lots of ideas and I can't wait to try them out and what not.  But first I will share some of my for sure in the food and decor category.

{pic}

I found these at this lovely blog, and I plan to do them a bit more healthy by using minced strawberries and maybe raspberries with yogurt sweetened with honey!  I am hoping to be able to sneak in some wheat germ as well, I also wont be including the candy.  AMAZING idea and I know a great dollar store that has smaller portioned cups which will be grand and hopefully minimize the mess that will probably be going on.

{pic}

I hope to make this the "Pink Ink Yink Drink" but I will add strawberry slices to the jug as well as some small cucumber just for the extra UMPH!  Plus i thought it would make it look more wacky!  I hope the kids like it I might just slice up grapes in case it scares people.

{pic}

Now I have seen many different ways to do this and I have yet to find a way I am pleased with taste wise etc.  So I have no clue if this is possible but GIVE ME A RECIPE if you have it lol.  Cause all the ideas are welcome the more options the better right??

{pic}

I plan to turn this into decor by getting my gf to make her tissue paper puffs all pointy and by twisting two colours of streamers for the stems.  Of course mine will have to be "ivy-like" because the kids will rip it down and well all know how horibly that stuff stains!

So those are my idea so far, I have to figure out how to make a diplomat cake look "Dr. Suess-ish" cause i kinda have my heart set on it.  What I might do is get request star fruit and dragon fruit be put on top of it.  The stars are to mimic those star bellied sneetches he wrote about, the anti-semitism one.  Only other task I can think of are getting balloons, and loot bags... how am I going to make loot bags go with my theme.  Martha better have some ideas!

To my father

My father has been sending me e-mails saying how cute the boys look... he hasn't even met youngest.  I know sad, if you knew him you would understand my choices.  These e-mails leave me to believe that he is reading my blogs.  Fine.  Just sad that you refuse to change and would much rather see photos of them.  They don't know the difference, my kids have THREE grandfathers.  My father-in-law who is loving and supportive but stern when need be.  My sister father who has raised me in the kind and gentle way my father couldn't, who was supportive AND helpful.  HE always thinks of others, NEVER himself.  These are the kind of men i want my children to look at daily.

My sister's father, my step dad.  Holding eldest days after being born @ my moms old apartment... man i miss that place and its mess...

My father isn't the kindest man, in fact hes the opposite.  He has grown his whole life with a sense of INSTANT entitlement.  What does this mean?  He thinks that he deserves everything, all the things he wants even though he spews poison at everyone he comes into contact with.  He thinks that respect is just given when he hasn't worked an ounce the whole lifetime i have known him, for it.  Sad?  Yes, it is sad that he refuses to be a better person in life, that he would rather continue being this horrible person than meet his grandkids.  That he has worked so hard to PREVENT ANY form of reconciliation.  So why would i want a man like you around my kids, to teach them to treat everyone with disrespect and disregard?  You're right I don't, I wont.  I wont put my kids threw the constant disappointment of YOU!  You have broken my heart to many times to be mended.  I have taped it back together and i'm keeping it this way, even if that means you wont be in my life in a direct non-harassing way.  Continue to read, it doesn't matter to me.  Look at these photos and remember how many times you have hurt others, yourself and your family.  Let these childrens growth be a reminder at how you have to change, how you never have when people have begged and pleaded for you to.

To my readers, I am sorry to dampen your day with this drivel, i just needed to say this on the assumption that he is reading.

Good-bye Father, it's a shame you let it become like this; but i am proud at how I haven't let you break my spirit like you did in the past.

My father with Eldest.

Our "New" double stroller

That is RIGHT i got a new double stroller!!  I got the stroller I wanted in the first place and couldn't afford it.  I found it by chance while i was placing ads up on craigslist and it was only for $5o.oo!!  That is right you heard me!  So hubby made sure he worked the following day so that we could get the money for it and BOOM, by the following day we had it in our hands!  So we took it for a test drive to the store and it handles like a dream!  Our last one was horrible, just horrible.  Great size for transit with ZERO maneuverability which made it horrific to use every time we did.

old crap joovy sit n stand stroller

This, again, is our new stroller... not the greatest photo but i'm sure there will be plenty more!

Eldest chilling in the back on this horrible rainy day!
youngest in the front.
I have to say that i'm happy and please even if the craigslist woman looked at my husband as if he was sixteen.  We're young, we get it, but hes twenty fucking four it isn't that BIG OF A DEAL! Why the dirty looks??  Least we can clean our kids faces... unlike her the older more mature parent UGH!!

Week two of sweating!!

Alright so it is that time.  I have made it to my second week in tact and making great progress!  I have managed to watch WHAT I eat as best I can and I am quite happy about it.  Still haven't managed to completely adopt the no eating after 8pm but 5/7 days a week i'm following it; which is great compared to NEVER like before.  My Wii fit says I have lost 3.1 pounds and that is GREAT!!  I went from 91.3kg to 89.9kg!  My BMI went from 33.54 to 33.02 which made me happy too!!

I wish i could show you pictures of my Wii chart BUT my camera apparently can't take photos off my TV well enough for you to see anything....

crap photo lol
not the greatest.... you can kinda see my chart and the BMI number from a few days before my two week point but that's about it...you can kinda see my Mii in the corner there too!
So i did it, i took my baby steps and i have begun to loose some weight; despite the weather, despite school, despite two blogs, despite a new job, DESPITE CHILDREN!  I am a champ!  If i can manage to do ALL of this, anyone can honestly i swear to you!!  Soon enough I will be loosing faster, and working out harder and feeling HEALTHY!  Now all I have to do is try really really hard to stick to my commandments ALL of them COMPLETELY; and we'll be in great shape right??

How is everyone else doing on their weight loss progress?? Are YOU making progress?!?!  Are you in a rut?!

I think I want this hair do....

I have been looking at this hairdo for the better part of three years now thinking about how much i like it, if it would look good on me etc etc...  Ideally I would have liked to be thinner as i find straight across bangs don't always look amazing on "fat chicks" like myself.  BUT nonetheless i think my next hair cut is going to be this one??

Have you ever shy'd from getting a hair cut before?  Did you end up getting it done??  Did you hate it??

Now what do you think I should do, we have all seen me with the side bangs

See not so bad and I had to straighten them EVERYDAY but it was worth it.  I even managed to always find the time to do it too which was GREAT!  I have even sported the straight across as a small child.

I am hopeful that i will look mature like in the first photo, not like i do here lol.

So you think i can pull off, at least long enough for them to grow back right?!?

Just Refill It!!!

So as many "husbands" mine is no different... hes allergic to refilling the toilet paper.  I hate this... my toilet paper is directly beside the roll hanger and he can't take three seconds to refill it after he has depleted our resources lol.

Now since I, like you, are not alone I decided that instead of complain about it I would attempt to find a way to solve it.  YES solve it.  I am going to be trying a bunch of things to see what EXACTLY will make people in my home refill the toilet paper rolls.

My first step??!!?

A note, a small reminder that you CAN'T NOT SEE when doing your business!  I hope this works, I will keep you posted!  Next step?? remember his bathroom schedule and leave an empty roll and hide the toilet paper lol!!!

youngest has a Grade 1 heart murmur

So youngest had his latest check-up the other day and we discovered that he has a grade one heart murmur.  He said that it was nothing to worry about as they are completely normal for small children to have and they usually go away with growth and development.  I was glad to know it was nothing to worry about and I have a rough idea of what they entail since I did have one as a small child.  I presume i grew out of it as it has never been mentioned to me since.

In the process of looking up information on this I found this great site!  Awesome for kids, it will read out all it's information and it is written in a very easy to process way which is GREAT!

I was really impressed and it was great to take a break and not have to read anything.  So take a look and try out the site and find out what a heart murmur is.

Other than the heart mumur he looks great, underweight, then we took his height and hes a little under on that in the 10th percentile but hes not worried.... guess he'll just be short and fat for a while lol!! I like him like that anyways lol!!  He was VERY impressed at how he walks so well, youngest just strutted around the office showing off his "troll walk" as we call it.  Kind of a mix between a penguin and someone with two wooden peg legs if you can imagine that.  So hes either early or late so far.  The dr also said to keep an eye on his speech since second borns are usually slow there as the eldest usually just talks for them and they adapt to that way of life.  Until they get shafted out of something I bet lol!  I hope that you all are having a great Sunday!

Why funky socks are good for your sanity

As some of you know I hate folding, I LOATHE it.  I have a constant massive pile of clothes in my bedroom to back me up on that one as well.  I would rather clean a line up of dirty toilets than fold my cleaned laundry.  When i get dressed in the morning I can look for up to 20 min for a pair of socks for JUST myself.  So what did I do about it?!?!

I GOT FUNKY SOCKS!! You have no idea how easy it is to find these things in the massive pile of laundry ITS AMAZING!! I will NEVER search for a pair of sock nor will my thought "maybe I should actually fold this mess" HA!  I can forever find my socks AND NOT fold laundry.  It is the perfect compromise don't you think??

What is your least favorite chore??  What did you do to solve your cleaning woes??!

No Snow... But Frost... (of course after i wrote this it STARTED to snow...)

(pre-written Jan. 11th, 2011)

So I jinx my self but what I was going to say was, since that one last day of snow we have not seen as much of as a snowflake, until right this moment.  As much as I dislike the snow, if its going to be this freezing cold there better be snow to make it look gorgeous (which it hopefully will be in the morning) cause this is just not pleasant.  We've had so many days solid of frost (until, again, right now) the build up is ridiculous!  I decided to go out for a little walk to get some exercise after some morning coffee and took my camera.

The frost build up reminded me of the first fantasia movie, where the fairies are dancing changing the seasons etc...  The sweet white crystals building on themselves creating a snow all in itself.  So cold out but still lovely... even though i practically killed myself slipping down the sidewalk.  Needless to say it was a relatively short walk lol.

Even though my hands were frozen, no i didn't wear gloves I can't with my camera they just end up being taken off in the end anyways, i managed to enjoy myself.  All in all it was a great walk and a good collection of unique photos.  Very happy i took advantage of this opportunity, even though it was now time wasted since the snow has begun.  At least now I can be happy that youngest's snow gear wasn't a waste of money lol.  THANK GOODNESS!!

Never mind i revoke that the rain started... everything was slush and could not be played in... now it's all gone I did waste my money :( lol!!

Schools in again... but not for the kiddos...

 {pic}

So it begins again.  I have once again enrolled in school and i'm off to math class AGAIN!  I hate math.  Especially right now, as the math i'm doing is so easy at the moment its slightly insulting.  I know for a fact that this grade wasn't this easy when I was in class.  Or was I just that stupid?  I don't see why I need to be doing this, but at least it will improve my grade, hopefully!
 {pic}

Now for those of you that don't know.  I never actually graduated high school because I never managed to pass math.  So here I am now doing it before my kids grow up to realize I haven't and use it to throw in my face later.  I can honestly tell them, no I didn't complete on time and I had to go AAAALLL the way back and do it again.  Wouldn't you rather just spend the time on it now rather than when your twenty something?
{pic}

So wish me luck with finding time to do this with all that I have on my plate currently.  The two boys... oh wait THREE boys, two blogs (which are like two full time jobs strangely enough with all my researching and writing), party planning with a gf of mine, school whilst hubby is working randomly here and there, not to mention all my housework I still have to actually do from time to time, oh yeah and don't forget this exercising I have to squeeze in as well and managing to watch what I eat or just EAT in general!  Think i'm taking on too much right now don't you ??

I am sure I will manage it, I have proven to myself many times over that I can do SO much everyday all I have to do is plan my time wisely and take deep breaths.  Also helps if you have a super small basement suite that takes no time to clean compared to many of your homes i'm sure as well as a hubby who's a clean freak lol!  So cheers and HERE'S HOPING!

Save the Sleeve Boogie Wipes Review/Giveaway!

CLOSED!

When I was given the opportunity to do this review/giveaway I was so thrilled.  Not only did I get to review something that could be so useful BUT I also got to give you a piece of the pie as well!!

Now some of you are familiar with the great Boogie Wipes company.  So for those of you that aren't I highly recommend them.  They have really won me over and I swear it wasn't just the super cute packaging either, that did it!

See I told you, scrumptious!!  They have three great scents the "Fresh", the "grape", and the "Mint" which reminded me of the spearmint scented markers!  But what was the number one seller to my eldest?!  The grape scented ones (they smell like grape hubba bubba gum)... He sat there sniffing them for SUCH a long time!  I even got a video of him enjoying one of the grape wipes with his lunch :).

video

Isn't he hilarious?!  He really liked them and that is GREAT for a mom.  The saline based wipes are AMAZINGLY gentle, I even tested them on a little diaper rash youngest had.  With the other wipes he usually puts up a HUGE fit and screams cause they aren't the greatest when you are soar down there.  So I used the "fresh" scented boogie wipe and it was as if nothing was happening at all; they're brilliant and didn't irritate his already irritated bum bum!

oh no a boogie!!
wipey wipey!
I even have to admit I used them to blow my nose once or twice while out and about in this horribly cold weather.  It's been so clear here but below freezing so we got the Rudolph look going on lol.  Back to these wipes, now eldest not only loved the smell of the grape wipes but he loved their "save the sleeve" portion of their site!  He had a great time going in there playing games and I had a great time trying to teach him all about the importance of not using your sleeve and the idea of "germs."  They even have a section of funny jokes like this one:
What do you call a skinny boogie?
Slim pickin's lol!!
Cute right??!  I thought so lol!  You can even join the Boogie bunch and get a .50 cent coupon for Boogie wipes!!

Now to top it off Boogie Wipes company has offered to give one of my lucky readers "(2) packs of 30-count wipes (fresh, grape, mint, or unscented– combination varies)" What to know how to enter??

The things I love about my family

I was really happy when this crazy chick asked me to guest post for her and I really wanted to take an idea of hers from her thirty day thingy to really keep on track with what she was writing about, but to not focus on things i love about myself, but about my family.

We all have family that drive us crazy and sometimes it is a lot easier to focus on all the bad than it is the good.  I really love who I continue to become because of their sweet faces!

I mean look at them, who couldn't love those silly faces?!
  • I love how eldest and my hubby are clean freaks.
  • I love how eldest wants to take care of everyone and gives out so much love to the world.
  • I love how hubby makes grilled cheeses, somehow he just has the magic touch.
  • I love how youngest mimics so well compared to eldest when he was young.
  • I love how youngest is the reincarnation of my mother... it's breath taking.
  • I love that youngest was born on the anniversary date of my mothers death, cause it made it a full circle moment for me.
  • I love when my eldest is sick and he is extra cuddly (horrible, i know lol)
  • I love how I always have to sneak pictures of my hubby even if it does drive me nuts.
  • I love doing guest posts about my family (CHEAT!)
  • I love playing with my kids on a cold day cause their little cheeks and noses look so cute!
  • I just love how cute they all are!
  • I just LOVE THEM!
It is amazing how much love you can feel for people.  It is truly one of the most remarkable of all the human emotions, as it has the power to actually dictate the choices you make and how you react to situations.  They are my source of comfort, of inspiration and I thank God everyday that I get to spend with them.  I thank God cause i have two healthy, strong and smart boys who will hopefully grow up with a sense of pride, respect and loyalty to our family.  I hope that they will turn out to be a proud examples of men, who treat others with kindness, stand up for the weak and treat their women how they deserve to be treated, as givers of life.

With all my love and best wishes xoxoxo

Super Foods Part one

Since health is one of my main goals, so I wanted to look into “superfoods” to see what sorts of things I should be eating MORE of.  To help ME (so please don’t take my advice over the advice of your doctors yadda yadda…) with some of the things I am worried about such as cancer and osteoporosis.  Most of you know my mother passed from cancer and also suffered from advanced osteoporosis, and currently my father has developed it as well (osteoporosis that is).  The last thing I want, is to leave this world too early or with a hunchback and constant back fractures.  So what better way than to adapt “superfoods” into my diet?!

Now I wanted to start with our first super hero… to me villain since I hate them but their benefits clearly can’t be ignored.  Blueberries.  I know, I know “how could you hate blueberries!?!?”  I just do, dunno why I just never liked them.  Not even blueberry flavored things lol!  Now these, I think yucky, little blue things are PACKED, and I mean PACKED, with those wonderful things we call antioxidants which have been proven to help in the prevention of many diseases including cancer and heart disease.   They also have phytoflavinoids which helps with inflammation which is apparently a key driver in many chronic diseases.  Not to mention they are also high in potassium and vitamin C, making them probably something I should learn to live with, and eat.  Recommended serving?  ½ cup a day apparently, and don’t worry they say that frozen are just as good as fresh!

Since I began with something that I dislike I figured lets choose something that I honestly LOVE.  Broccoli.  Oh how I love it and apparently so do our bodies!  All women should be eating this at all times that they can squeeze it in.  Why?!  Because it helps us develop normal tissue, so its important to eat; for all women, for any reason.

The large amounts of calcium of course aid in the fight against osteoporosis, the potassium for high blood pressure, the fibre helps out the gastrointestinal (GI) tract as well as reducing your blood cholesterol levels which are always a worry for me and my weight.  Luckily I haven’t ended up with these issues as of yet.  But that isn’t the point; the point is to PREVENT these things.  In the last few years, broccoli, believe it or not, has actually made the headlines with three different components found in the vegetable. For instance, the indole-3-carbinol has peaked the interest of those looking to prevent hormone-related cancers like breast and prostate cancer.  In case those weren’t good enough reasons, how about it aids in the prevention in the OTHER following illnesses: Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, calcium deficiencies, stomach and colon cancer, malignant tumors, lung cancer, heart disease, arthritis, and even the aging process.  Not to mention its just yummy!  So that is going to be added to my as-much-as-possible list.  Who knows maybe you’ll see me on the couch eating it raw like the caltrate commercials lol!

Something that EVERYONE in my house loves is Bananas, but do you know the health benefits of our organically packaged buddy?!?  POTASSIUM is a big one.  They contain 10% of our daily intake of potassium, that’s a lot of power for one fruit to carry with it!  And thanks to the potassium that our little banana has by eating it, it will in turn help suppress the amount of calcium your body will excrete or “loose.”  Helping you in to actually “absorb” it better in a sense, which ends up helping you create and maintain healthier teeth and bones as well as it aids in the prevention of kidney stones (which my father has had six times in his lifetime so far… guess he should have eaten some bananas).  Can’t complain about that can ya?!?  With the amount of other vitamins in the amazing banana (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B9) that little guy also helps you keep a healthy mental state AND nervous system.  With mental illness and depression sitting in my background, this little guy might be my key to keeping that pep in my step from morning till night.  What else can super banana do??!  It boosts your immune system, helps your hair and nails grow, SLOWS AGING, prevents memory loss (need to eat MORE!!!!), prevents depression, dementia, heck there are even new studies out there talking about how they can help rewire your brain after suffering a stroke I mean what more could you want from something you eat?!?!  Truly a super food!

Did you know that the Aztec’s called avocado’s “ahuacatl”, which is their word for testicles?  You didn’t?!  Neither did I, and I’m rather upset that I know that now.  Anyways despite being called ahuacatl or “balls” I do have some relevant information.  We all know that this little guy is super fatty, in fact 330 calories and 30g of fat kinda fatty; but it is GOOD fat the kind of fat that lowers your cholesterol so don’t go running away!  After a study was done, looking at 45 different people, integrating avocados into their diets most of them showed about a 17% decrease in their cholesterol levels, and that is pretty significant.

The avocado can also could be useful to ALL us bloggers as it has been proven helpful in keeping your eyes healthy from spending WAY too much time in front of the computer screen.  Definitely something I should look into as I noticed my eyes are going blurry even now.  They have even shown to have a natural toxin (good toxin) that will actually kill cancer cells in both prostate cancer and breast cancer!  Olive oil also shares the same cancer fighting properties, so keep note of that.  You want to know what my favourite part about this fruit is??  It’s the glutathione and the more of this you have in you the longer your life expectancy if supposed to be, how can that be bad?!  Oh wait IT CAN’T!!  Then just to top it off this wonder fruit is capable of helping you absorb other vitamins from other foods that you eat with it.  Take that Superman!

I hope that you found this as useful as I have.  This is definitely a series that I hope to continue with when I have the time to do all the research and reading for it.  I hope that you will add more of these to your diet!  Share your healthy recipes containing these magical vegetables and fruits with us and we would love to feature them on our Scrumptious Sundays!
